Application Criteria
To be eligible, you must:
- Be a South African youth aged 18–35 years.
- Be a resident of KwaZulu-Natal Province.
- Be in possession of a Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
- Have an acceptance or provisional acceptance letter from a public tertiary institution for 2026, OR be currently studying in one of the listed fields.
- Demonstrate financial need.
Documents Required
A complete application must include:
- The official bursary application form (Available from: Operation Sukuma Sakhe War Rooms, Department of Education District Offices, Student Funding Offices, Local Municipalities and Libraries, or Provincial Department websites/social media).
- Certified copy of your ID document.
- Certified copies of parents’/guardian’s IDs, or death certificate where applicable.
- Certified copy of your Matric certificate and latest academic record (if currently studying).
- Proof of income (payslip, pension receipt, bank statement) or an unemployment affidavit.
- Proof of registration/acceptance from a tertiary institution or CAO proof.
- Proof of residence from your ward councillor.
- Profiling certificate from your local municipality (if available).
