Applications for the 2026 KZN Government Bursary Programme are now open, offering a vital lifeline for talented youth to pursue critical fields of study.

    The Treasury seeks to cultivate the next generation of financial managers and accountants to ensure prudent fiscal management for the province.

    Application Criteria

    To be eligible, you must:

    • Be a South African youth aged 18–35 years.
    • Be a resident of KwaZulu-Natal Province.
    • Be in possession of a Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
    • Have an acceptance or provisional acceptance letter from a public tertiary institution for 2026, OR be currently studying in one of the listed fields.
    • Demonstrate financial need.

    Documents Required

    A complete application must include:

    1. The official bursary application form (Available from: Operation Sukuma Sakhe War Rooms, Department of Education District Offices, Student Funding Offices, Local Municipalities and Libraries, or Provincial Department websites/social media).
    2. Certified copy of your ID document.
    3. Certified copies of parents’/guardian’s IDs, or death certificate where applicable.
    4. Certified copy of your Matric certificate and latest academic record (if currently studying).
    5. Proof of income (payslip, pension receipt, bank statement) or an unemployment affidavit.
    6. Proof of registration/acceptance from a tertiary institution or CAO proof.
    7. Proof of residence from your ward councillor.
    8. Profiling certificate from your local municipality (if available).

    Deadline of Application

    All applications must be submitted by 15 February 2026.

    Do not wait until the last minute. Gather your documents, complete the form carefully, and submit to the correct department for your chosen field of study. This could be your first step toward a rewarding career in service of KwaZulu-Natal.
