What You Need to Qualify
To be considered, you must satisfy one of these sets of criteria:
- A Senior Certificate (Matric) with a minimum of 40% in Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy), Physical Science, and English.
OR - An N2 certificate (or higher) with all four subjects passed, which must include Mathematics and Engineering Science, plus the following trade-specific theory subjects:
- Boilermaker: Plating/Welder Theory, Plating Structural & Steelwork Drawings
- Electrical: Electrical Trade Theory, Industrial Electronics or Engineering Drawings
- Diesel Mechanic: Diesel/Motor Trade Theory, Engineering Drawings
- Mechanical Fitter: Fitting Trade Theory, Engineering Drawings
- Instrument Mechanician: Instrument Trade Theory, Industrial Electronics
- Auto Electrician: Motor Electrical Trade Theory, Industrial Electronics
- Millwright: Electrical & Fitting Trade Theories, plus Engineering Drawings or Industrial Electronics
OR
- An NCV Level 4 certificate in a relevant field, with all subjects passed at 40% or higher.
